MID TREE CHURCH – COVID-19 PLAN
Mid Tree Fam – I’ve been reading through Philippians (which we’ll check out this Sunday) and in this short 4 chapter book we find a man, imprisoned and alone, preparing for his life to end – AND YET – we find that this man is full of encouragement, hope, and anxiety-crushing vitality for the mission of Jesus. How can such a devastating low and such a joy-filled high reside within the same soul? Because Jesus is there too.
As with us. We can fight fear and anxiety, because Jesus is there too. We can prepare for the worst of this world and expect the best in the world to come, because Jesus is there too. We can be more concerned with our neighbor and brother than ourselves, because Jesus is there too. We can find ourselves separated, but know we are united, because Jesus is there too. We can find joy in any and all circumstances simply because, JESUS IS THERE TOO.
You are not alone, we are not alone, and God has work for us to do. According to Ephesians 2:10 God has planned this specific mission moment for you long ago, let’s be the church to a world in need!
Here’s the plan:
WHAT WE ARE NOT DOING:
Joining for Sunday worship in person at Impact 360
Gathering in homes for Missional Community Groups
Previously scheduled trainings, classes, church functions, etc
WHAT WE ARE DOING:
Gathering virtually on the Lord’s Day from 10-11am through live streaming for worship, the word, and “what’s next” for us as a faith family.
Equipping MCG Leads/Hosts to continue gospel-communities in our current circumstances. Here’s a link for our virtual training on March 25th from 6:30-7:30pm.
Outreach to our neighborhoods through a “block card” that you can put in your neighbors mailboxes1. We should’ve been doing this before COVID-19! Also, simply invite friends/neighbors to our on-line service and share it with them. Even the most timid can handle “1-click evangelism”.
Member Care for those in our faith family. Expect an occasional call/text/email from your leaders – and keep us informed. How’s your family, job, and soul? If you’re a member and would like a list of our current members to pray/care for request one by emailing [email protected]
Being Generous to keep missions alive, compensate staff, and care for our church and neighbors. Please continue to give your regular offering to the church, and know that we want to support you if you are financially struggling.
Remembering our Children by supplying parents with a video lesson and study guide focused on Philippians which the adults are studying on Sunday morning. Also, here’s a great family worship guide produced by another Acts 29 church.
We may be isolated physically, but the Spirit of God moves forward in and through us! MTC leadership will keep you updated through email and social media. Let us know if you need care, counsel, prayer, or anything else. We love you guys…
